As of November 5th, 2021, Sunday River and Sugarloaf were blowing snow and all the mountains in Maine are preparing to welcome winter guests back to their mountains for another ski season.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 is still a concern. Ski mountains are updating their policies to keep the staff and guests safe while still aiming to provide an awesome ski experience. Patience once again will be needed as mountains are dealing with implementing these policies in a very tight labor market. It will do no one any good to be rude with staff. If you have to wait a bit longer for service, so be it. The mountain staff are doing the best they can in a very challenging environment.
Generally, it looks like the outside experience this season will be pretty much back to normal. Early reads of policies and news reports are that masks will not be required outside and chairs will be loaded to full capacity.
Although it looks like there will not be capacity restrictions inside base lodges, masks will be strongly encouraged and required in certain situations. As of this writing, Sunday River will not be allowing bag storage in the base lodge.
Here are links to updated 2021-22 COVID policies. Please check these before each ski trip in case anything changes so you can KNOW BEFORE YOU GO.
Other ski area policies will be posted to this page as they are made available...
