Trip Report by guest contributor Sam Shirley.
Today's ski day was at Mt. Abram in Greenwood, Maine. Mt. Abram is just off Route 26 about 7 miles east of Bethel, Maine and 13 miles from the Sunday River Ski Resort.
Despite what the trail report said, Mt. Abram was actually 100% open today! Eleven trails were listed as closed on the report, but they were all, in fact, open. It was a perfect bluebird day, with temperatures in the 20s and excellent packed powder conditions on groomed trails.

The Round-A-Bout Trail |
Ungroomed terrain was more of a mixed bag, with some being firm, but very edgeable, and other sections being quite icy. Cover was generally good, with just some thin areas on natural trails. Glades were generally skiing quite well with good cover in most areas.
The mountain was extremely crowded today, but for some reason they didn't run the T-bar. Lift lines were usually 5-10 minutes long, but they occasionally stretched closer to 15 minutes.

Editors Note: Mt. Abram is open from Thursday - Sunday and holiday weeks. They offer one of the best lift ticket deals in Maine by partnering with L.L.Bean to offer $35 lift tickets every ski day with $20 Thursday tickets for Maine residents. Thus, the weekends can get quite busy so the lift lines can get somewhat lengthy but the flip side is generally uncrowded trails which is a huge plus. They also offer a great learning area with it's own dedicated lift on the west side of the mountain and support uphill access. Additionally, they offer a great lift serviced bike park in the summer. Mt. Abram is a lot of fun in all seasons!
