The countdown is on for the opening day of the ski season at Saddleback Maine! Saddleback is targeting to spin the lifts December 2nd but that is all dependent on getting enough cold weather for Saddleback's awesome snowmaking team to cover the trails in white gold. Saddleback has been busy once again this off-season. While not all of these projects directly impact the on-snow experience, they are all key in driving the mission of Saddleback forward to be a sustainable business positively benefiting their customers, mountain staff and the Rangeley area as a whole.

Grooming Improvements
Saddleback took delivery of two Pisten Bully 600 E+ eco groomers to lay down that awesome cord and be more eco-friendly at the same time. Great addition to the fleet that provides some of the best snow surfaces around.

Snowmaking Improvements
Saddleback took delivery of an array of snowmaking equipment including Super Puma snow guns, pole cats and Low-E stick guns. We have already noticed this equipment in-position on the trails and ready to go!
Uphill New England Collective Pass
Saddleback has joined the Uphill New England Collective Pass, offering access to Saddleback's dedicated uphill trail as well as 11 other uphill systems across New England.

Employee Housing
Saddleback cut the ribbon on opening the Saddleback House, an employee housing facility offering 43 rooms, laundry facilities, dining area and direct ski in / ski out access to the slopes. The building will provide housing to up to 60-70 Saddleback employees and also potentially house employees of other Rangeley area businesses. This is a fantastic project supporting the entire Rangeley region.

Solar Farm
Partnering with Nexamp, the Saddleback solar farm is now online providing to the electric grid twice the power needed to run the resort. Tucked away in the northeast corner of the Saddleback property, this is another step forward in Saddleback's sustainability commitment.

And we expect to hear winter operation news about the new Mid-Mountain Restaurant soon! What we know is that it is targeted for a December 15, 2023 opening. Located at 3,620 feet at the top of the Rangeley chair, the building will feature ski-up food and beverage kiosk, bathrooms, merchandise area and space for indoor and outdoor immersive dining.
