Pic from Saddleback Opening Day - December 6th 2024 |
Holy cow what an opening weekend at Saddleback! Numerous pre-season snow events plus over 18" of new snow over opening weekend made for
some terrific conditions. The MaineSkiFamily crew took full
advantage all 3 days! A moose also participated in the opening day activities! Also, check out this video with all of our opening weekend powder shots!
As we look forward to the 2024-25 season at Saddleback here are 5 things to
know about the upcoming season.
Lift & Snowmaking Maintenance
Saddleback GM Jim Quimby reported in a recent video numerous lift and snowmaking infrastructure improvements for this season. On opening weekend the lifts ran great and we could tell the mountain blasted tons of snow from top to bottom ensuring great conditions for opening day.
New Floor at The Nest
The Nest, Maine's highest restaurant at 3,620 feet, has numerous events planned for the upcoming season and they have upgraded the flooring! No more bare concrete floor as it has been covered with a durable rug that is much more friendly with ski boots. A nice upgrade to a fun place to grab great eats and drinks during your ski day.

New Overflow Parking
MaineSkiFamily has learned that the parking experience will be improved this year with additional dedicated staffing and a new parking lot available during the busy days. This lot is located on the Magalloway Circle road just off the Saddleback Mountain road that approaches the base lodge. It will be serviced by a base lodge shuttle and those with their tickets already in hand can ski down the Morning Glory trail (conditions permitting) to the South Branch chair. You can also ski to this lot at the end of your ski day via the Hudson Highway and Morning Glory ski trails.
Base Camp Supply Retail on First Floor
Saddleback has moved their soft goods store to the first floor adjacent to the ticket office and has expanded their hard goods store on the ground level. Plus, the ski tuning shop has acquired a new state-of-the-art Wintersteiger tuning machine.
New Trail Signs
Saddleback is in the midst of replacing their trail signs! The signs are much brighter and more easily readable which makes getting around the mountain easier for the first time visitor.
