The wait begins...

So a blog on a family skiing in Maine

This is the worst time of year for me. Fall is just about done (the leaves are off the trees) and we have TWO LONG MONTHS before the alpine ski season really gets going. We might get a day in at Sunday River (they always try to open early) but it will be a lot of weather watching and wishing for cold weather between now and then. I can't afford a trip out west for early season snow, so I need to put this energy to good use! Thus the blog...

So this blog will be about our wait to ski... and the skiing itself. We are a family of four.... Myself, Mom (and her new ACL) with two teenage sons 13 and 16. We have been skiing seriously for the past 5 years and we have learned a lot about how to try to do this very expensive sport affordably. Blog posts about our best trips past, money saving tips, ski tuning, favorite mountains and all other things skiing will be coming. And there will be posts about some of the skiing trips themselves. We like to take pictures (and some videos) and get the best action shots possible.

We will see how long this lasts but it seems like a good way to share our experiences with others. So in the meantime....
